Let's take a "stroll" (pun still intended) through the corporate jungle, shall we?

Life, like any good onion, has layers. At the start of our careers, it's all about 'walking the walk.' The hustle, the grind, the shoe leather—you get the picture. But as the years accumulate, so does wisdom. I've had the honor of being called an "Oracle" after 24+ years in the game, and let me tell you, the term has its perks.

These days, my energy tank is more suited for "talking the talk." Why walk when you can sit in a boardroom and steer the ship strategically?

But not everyone has the luxury of transitioning smoothly. Some folks are 'walk-challenged,' struggling to fit into those metaphorical leadership shoes. And that's okay. They shift gears and become the talkers, mastering the art of verbal strategy.

Here's a nugget from my vault: I once led a team where one manager, let's call him Jack, was excellent at execution but struggled with strategic discussions. Instead of sidelining him, I encouraged Jack to take on projects that played to his operational strengths. Over time, he became more comfortable with strategic talks, eventually becoming a well-rounded leader.

So, whether you're a walker, talker, or somewhere in between, embrace it! As the not-so-fit Oracle that I am, "Why walk when your words can do the running for you?"
